Building the Extruder

After just my third time at TYCO, I could feel that I was learning a lot.
We needed to drill a 3mm hole hole at the center of the brass closed coupling. The brass object had a little stub at the tip so we had to level the face flat before drilling the hole.
We leveled it with a machine called a lathe. (add description and pic)
Afterwards we used a tool (what was it called?) that had a really small tip which was used to mark and indent where to drill the hole which was going to be at the center of the extruder. Then we used a screw gun to drill the 3 mm hole. In order to assure that the drill bit was 3 mm, we used a caliber to check the measurement.
The team also realized that we needed an insulator for the metal coupling so the 3d printed parts that we printed out as part of the machine would not melt due to the heat from the heating element and coupling.
All in all, today I learned what a lathe was and got to use it and I also used a drill for the first time along with a caliber.
